Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at the State of South Carolina. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for implementing and refining district-approved curriculum to meet the evolving educational needs of students with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and refine district-approved curriculum to meet the evolving educational needs of students with disabilities.
- Systematically gather, analyze, and use data to measure student progress, guide instruction, and provide timely feedback.
- Use technology effectively to enhance student learning and to manage the classroom.
- Maintain a safe student-centered learning environment that is engaging and respectful.
- Manage classroom with clear, consistent expectations for student behavior with an aim to create a calm, safe, orderly learning community.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) consistent with compliance requirements.
- Complete additional special educational actions and attend meetings as applicable as part of student's educational team.
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Completion of a Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) approved training program or eligible for South Carolina certification through the State Department of Education's approved alternative certification routes.
- Valid South Carolina certification (or is eligible to obtain a South Carolina certification) in the subject area(s) employed to teach Special Education: D/HH.
- Ability to implement appropriate communication modality and/or to acquire requisite skills.
