Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our Emergency Department team on a part-time basis. As an LVN, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department setting, including assessing patients, administering medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, including oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intravenous medications, as prescribed by physicians and ensure accurate documentation of medication administration.
- Assist with triage and assessment of patients, gathering data, and prioritizing their care based on the severity of their injuries or illnesses.
- Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access for patients requiring fluid and medication administration.
- Assist with electrocardiograms (EKGs) and setting up cardiac monitoring for patients experiencing cardiac symptoms.
- Participate in a case management approach, coordinating and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Act appropriately to ensure patient safety based on the physical environment, equipment, and the patient's behavior.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A high school diploma and a graduate of an accredited LVN training program.
- A minimum of one year recent experience in an acute care setting, preferably in the Emergency Department.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, maintaining composure and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- A valid LVN license in California and current IV certification from an approved state course.

About the Role
This part-time LVN role is available to work 12 hours per week, with a shift schedule of 6:45pm - 7:15am. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide emotional support to patients and their families. Estimated Salary
