About the Role

Vera Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) efforts. As a key member of our Medical Affairs and Clinical Research team, you will be responsible for generating real-world evidence and health economics comparative effectiveness research to support our product development and commercialization strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute HEOR Strategies: Design and execute HEOR studies, including literature reviews, burden of illness analyses, budget impact models, patient-reported outcomes, and real-world evidence, to support our product development and commercialization strategies.
  • Ensure Stakeholder Needs are Met: Ensure that the generated HEOR evidence addresses the needs and expectations of key stakeholders, including payers, health technology assessment agencies, healthcare providers, and patients.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including medical affairs, marketing, and clinical teams, to ensure relevant health economics data is integrated into clinical studies and commercialization plans.
  • External Partnerships: Engage and collaborate with external partners, including payers, healthcare providers, thought leaders, and decision-makers, to establish and maintain strong relationships and partnerships and gather insights into research projects.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance to internal teams on healthcare resource allocation and pricing strategies.
  • Communication and Presentation: Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner using appropriate communication channels.
  • Methodology and Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with advancements in health economics methodologies and best practices, and identify and interface with regional and national HEOR & RWE experts and organizations.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience leading health economics, health outcomes, patient-reported outcomes, epidemiology, health policy, and related research methodologies in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Disease knowledge in nephrology, rare diseases, neurology, ophthalmology, and/or immunology drug development highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with an advanced degree in a related field (e.g. PhD, DrPH, PharmD, MS).
  • Advanced written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to present technical information clearly and simply.
  • Knowledge and experience in managed care and integrated delivery networks, formulary decision-making, and payment and access.
