Tact Staff is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join their team in a travel position in the United States.

Job Description

The CT Technologist will perform computed tomography procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician, utilizing CT technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all types of CT studies, including diagnostic and interventional procedures, while practicing radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
  • Use sterile technique as required and optimally demonstrate patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
  • Operate all CT equipment and support systems, including HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS, and teleradiography, and perform and evaluate images for technical quality.
  • Utilize department computer systems, PACS, etc., to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
  • Care for and image patients of all ages, maintaining patient confidentiality and coordinating exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care.
  • Communicate with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care.
  • Participate in the department's quality improvement plan as required and maintain equipment as necessary, notifying the coordinator of equipment problems and calling appropriate service vendors as needed.
  • Keep work area properly supplied and advance work knowledge by participating in continuing education in-services, reading periodicals/literature, and seeking ongoing development opportunities.
  • Assist with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed and assist in the future planning of the CT department.
  • Access and administer drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a school of radiologic technology with current certification or eligibility for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • Certification in CT required within 24 months of hire.
  • Valid state medical radiographer license required.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
