Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Cultivation Technician to join our vibrant team. The successful candidate will be innovative, compassionate, and committed to the principles of teamwork and excellence. This role involves providing daily care and meticulous attention to ensure the production of high-quality, safe medical cannabis for our patients. The position reports directly to the Cultivation Manager.
Key Duties Include:
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment within the cultivation area and its surroundings.
- Adhering to all state regulations governing cannabis cultivation.
- Gaining proficiency in the operation of all equipment within designated grow areas, including irrigation systems, fans, and lighting.
- Ensuring proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment.
- Communicating effectively with Cultivation Managers regarding crop requirements.
- Conducting daily inspections of plants to identify any signs of pests, diseases, or growth abnormalities, and reporting findings accordingly.
- Overseeing the daily care of crops throughout all growth stages, from seed to harvest.
- Reviewing and following all operational procedures and checklists.
- Keeping accurate records of cultural practices and data collection as directed by management.
- Participating in cross-training across various cultivation practices.
- Implementing feeding and care schedules as instructed.
- Completing assigned daily and periodic tasks.
- Assisting with additional cultivation tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in horticulture, botany, or a related field.
- Understanding of biological and chemical principles related to plant growth and nutrition.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
- Demonstrated work history with increasing responsibilities and a willingness to take on new challenges.
- Availability to work weekends as needed.
- Experience with plant tracking software is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, for maintaining accurate records.
- Capability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent service.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to complete tasks as per instructions and standard practices.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over distances.
- Attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Dependability and integrity are essential.
