About the Role

Cosentino's Food Stores is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deli Food Service Manager to join our team. As a Deli Food Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Deli Prep team in a way that promotes growth for the company and delivers the product and service that Cosentino's customers have come to expect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Provide direct supervision of the activities of other members of the deli prep team in a manner that is operationally effective but also motivating and respectful.
  • Team Development: Promote a positive overall team atmosphere that includes cooperation and teamwork, high morale, positive interpersonal interactions and communications, and recognition for a job well done.
  • Inventory Management: Practice effective inventory management by counting and verifying merchandise against invoices and inspecting deliveries against shortages, damages, and quality.
  • Quality Control: Enforce strict quality control measures of all deli products put out in cases, hotlines, and other areas of the deli.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers in their shopping experience by suggesting additional products and offering samples to customers.
  • Store Operations: Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve a member of the store management team.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months previous experience in a Deli/Restaurant, or food service operations position is required.
  • Certifications: A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
Working Conditions

The Deli Food Service Manager will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The position will involve standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete, or other hard surfaces. The ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs is also required.
