We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Department Physician to join our team at the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION. This is a unique opportunity for a medical professional to provide exceptional care to our patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Job DescriptionAs an Emergency Department Physician, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including assessing patients, diagnosing conditions, and developing treatment plans. You will also be expected to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
In this role, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of medical emergencies. You will be required to think critically and make sound decisions quickly, often under pressure.
Requirements and QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must possess a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution. You must also be licensed to practice medicine in the United States and have completed a residency program in emergency medicine or a related field.
Additional requirements include proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as possession of American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
We also require applicants to meet the qualification standards for a Physician as defined in VA Handbook 5005. Specifically, you must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
