Swim Instructor Job Description

Lake Orion Community Schools is seeking a talented Swim Instructor to join our team at Lake Orion High School. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to students of all ages and abilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming lessons to students of all ages and abilities
  • Work directly with the Aquatic Director to develop and implement swimming programs
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean aquatic facility
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to improve teaching skills
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older
  • Water Safety Instructor (W.S.I.) certification preferred but not required
  • Lifeguard & CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification preferred but not required
  • 2 years' experience instructing swimming lessons preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well with children, staff, and patrons
  • Enthusiasm for swimming and teaching
  • Positive outlook
