We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our team at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance. As a Cardiac Care Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care in our Cardiovascular Services department.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to patients with cardiac conditions, including those undergoing pre- and post-operative care for heart surgery and neurosurgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to care.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and provide education to patients and families on disease management and self-care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 2 years of recent experience in a cardiac care setting, with a strong focus on cardiac skills and EPIC experience.
- Proficient or expert rating in titration of insulin drips, defibrillation, and cardioversion.
- AHA ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and maintain a patient ratio of 1:3.
- EPIC charting system experience required.
