**Job Summary**

Ontario County is seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons at our waterfront facilities.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid and CPR as needed.
  • Monitor the swimming area and respond to any potential hazards.
  • Participate in regular training and drills to maintain certification and stay up-to-date on best practices.

**Requirements:**

  • Possession of a current Lifeguard Training Certificate or Basic Lifeguarding certificate from an agency acceptable by the NYS Department of Health.
  • Possession of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate received from an acceptable agency listed in the Aquatic Certifications for NYS Bathing Facilities fact sheet produced by the NYS Department of Health.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience working as a Lifeguard in a waterfront setting.
  • Knowledge of American Red Cross Lifeguard Waterfront Module.
