Job Summary

The Registered Nurse RN Progressive Care PCU role at Terre Haute Regional Hospital is a dynamic opportunity for a skilled nurse to provide high-quality patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN will coordinate and deliver pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, serving as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs, providing age and culturally appropriate care while carrying out physician orders.
  • Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, monitor vital signs, and instruct and educate patients and families.
  • Provide respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients, and oversee discharge planning needs.
  • Support new staff through mentoring and orientation, and collaborate with all staff/units and shifts to ensure excellent patient care.
Requirements
  • Current Indiana RN licensure or active Compact State RN license.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing, Associates Degree required.
  • Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS, and NIHSS certification obtained within 6 months of hire date.
  • TCAT course completion within a year of employment.
  • Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
