About the Position

We are in search of skilled software or systems engineers to join our dynamic Infrastructure team, where we apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles in all our endeavors. Our team is responsible for designing, constructing, and managing large-scale, cloud-agnostic infrastructure utilizing GitOps methodologies. At Athelas, you will be part of a groundbreaking initiative. We advocate for innovation and open standards, championing the needs of patients and their caregivers. Together, we will craft the experiences that will define the future of healthcare.

This full-time role necessitates in-office collaboration for a minimum of three days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain tools, solutions, and microservices related to deployment and operational platforms.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues during testing and production phases, ensuring smooth launches.
  • Evaluate system integrity, design implementations, application developments, and other infrastructure-related processes, making enhancements as necessary.
  • Revise existing processes and design new workflows to optimize performance.
  • Automate operational processes while adhering to security protocols and accuracy standards.
  • Utilize programming languages or scripting techniques to address challenges with customized workflows.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining our CI/CD pipeline, facilitating quick issue resolution for developers.
  • Collaborate with team members on projects to devise optimal solutions for complex technological, security, or development challenges.
  • Engage with advanced technologies such as Rust, TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes.
  • Assume complete ownership of projects throughout their lifecycle.
  • Contribute to a collaborative Engineering, Product, and Design team, providing valuable insights as we expand our team and culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a minimum of three years of experience.
  • A passion for our mission to enhance health software and alleviate provider burnout.
  • A strong foundation in at least one programming language.
  • A commitment to high-quality engineering practices using contemporary tools and languages (prior experience with Rust/TypeScript is not mandatory).
  • Demonstrated resilience, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • A knack for transforming real-world complexities into elegantly simple solutions.
  • A preference for working in a collaborative and diverse environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including containers, networking, and operating systems.
  • Experience with multiple cloud service providers such as Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.
  • Proven ability to scale cloud infrastructure to accommodate growing teams.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
