Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist Job Description

At OCH Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our Labor and Delivery team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the surgeon and circulating nurse during surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling equipment and instruments.
  • Prepare the operating room and equipment for procedures, including setting up drapes, surgeon's gowns, and gloves.
  • Count and verify surgical instruments, sponges, and needles with the circulating nurse, adhering to OCH policy and procedures.
  • Assist with patient care, including vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and labeling.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols and standard precautions.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (CPR).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and prioritizing tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
