This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Pharmacist to join the team at Essentia Health as a Clinical Specialist in Oncology. The successful candidate will provide exceptional pharmaceutical care and education to patients with cancer, focusing on safe medication practices.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced pharmacist to lead our oncology pharmacy services. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive medication management systems, training healthcare personnel, and participating in drug therapy evaluation programs. As a leader in our pharmacy residency program, you will mentor and guide residents in their clinical practice, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology pharmacy, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for advancing the field of oncology pharmacy practice. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive medication management systems for oncology patients.
  • Train healthcare personnel in safe medication practices and proper use of chemotherapy agents.
  • Participate in drug therapy evaluation programs to ensure patients receive the most effective treatments.
  • Lead our pharmacy residency program, mentoring and guiding residents in their clinical practice.
Requirements:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:

  • A degree in pharmacy (PharmD or MS) from an accredited institution.
  • ASHP-accredited hospital residency experience or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) or eligibility to become certified within one year of hire.
  • Three years of clinical experience in oncology pharmacy, including experience working in a clinic oncology or infusion practice.
  • Familiarity with creating and maintaining treatment protocols and evidence of involvement in residency and learner program support and management.
  • Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy in the state where you will be working.
