Rough Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Rough Carpenter to join our set crew in Romulus, Michigan. As a Rough Carpenter, you will be responsible for assembling and setting up the structural components of modular homes, including walls, floors, and roofs, during the assembly phase.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and set up structural components of modular homes, including walls, floors, and roofs.
• Measure, cut, and secure framing materials, such as lumber and plywood, to construct building components according to blueprints and plans.
• Work as part of the set crew to install pre-fabricated modules and ensure proper alignment, stability, and structural integrity.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete carpentry tasks, such as cutting, fastening, and framing.
• Follow safety procedures and use proper techniques when working with heavy materials and equipment.
• Inspect work to ensure all components are level, square, and properly installed per company standards and building codes.
• Coordinate with other trades, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure modular homes are set up correctly and ready for finishing.
• Assist with the setup of temporary supports and scaffolding as needed to ensure safe and efficient work.
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and equipment.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) during work.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in rough carpentry, preferably with modular homes or commercial construction experience.
• Experience with the setup and assembly of pre-fabricated structures or similar construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Skilled in using carpentry hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work efficiently to meet production schedules.
• Physical ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs and work at heights if necessary.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation to the job site.
