Position Overview

The Custodial Technician operates under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor. This role is crucial in upholding a 95% standard of cleanliness across various assigned duties, which encompass: handling soiled linens, maintaining hard and carpeted floors, and managing the removal and replacement of bio-hazard containers. Proficiency in utilizing cleaning agents, equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor machines is essential.

*Important Note: This role is dependent on a contract award. We will not be actively engaging with applicants until there is a requirement to proceed with this position.

The compensation for this role ranges from $17.58 to $20.00 per hour, plus an additional $4.57 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage waste disposal and the sanitation of containers.
  • Handle the removal of soiled linens.
  • Ensure that all patient care and examination areas are sanitized according to the daily schedule.
  • Maintain cleanliness in office and communal spaces as per the daily timetable.
  • Oversee the disposal of bio-hazardous materials during each shift.
  • Respond promptly to overhead paging and radio communications.
  • Conduct scheduled floor care activities.
  • Perform low and high dusting in designated areas, including vents, lights, desks, and furniture.
  • Clean external entryways and signage.
  • Complete and submit weekly checklists to the supervisor.
  • Report any broken equipment or items needing repair.
  • Distribute linens as assigned.
  • Exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Adhere to work schedules and company policies.
  • Follow established safety standards for handling hazardous materials.
  • Execute other tasks as directed by management or supervisors.
Supervisory Role

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 3 months of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, with the ability to travel to local facilities.
  • Familiarity with janitorial practices, tools, and safety precautions.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Good customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures.
