Position Overview The Custodial Technician operates under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Supervisor. This role is crucial in upholding a 95% standard of cleanliness across various assigned duties, which encompass: handling soiled linens, maintaining hard and carpeted floors, and managing the removal and replacement of bio-hazard containers. Proficiency in utilizing cleaning agents, equipment such as vacuums, mops, and floor machines is essential.
*Important Note: This role is dependent on a contract award. We will not be actively engaging with applicants until there is a requirement to proceed with this position.
The compensation for this role ranges from $17.58 to $20.00 per hour, plus an additional $4.57 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage waste disposal and the sanitation of containers.
- Handle the removal of soiled linens.
- Ensure that all patient care and examination areas are sanitized according to the daily schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness in office and communal spaces as per the daily timetable.
- Oversee the disposal of bio-hazardous materials during each shift.
- Respond promptly to overhead paging and radio communications.
- Conduct scheduled floor care activities.
- Perform low and high dusting in designated areas, including vents, lights, desks, and furniture.
- Clean external entryways and signage.
- Complete and submit weekly checklists to the supervisor.
- Report any broken equipment or items needing repair.
- Distribute linens as assigned.
- Exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Adhere to work schedules and company policies.
- Follow established safety standards for handling hazardous materials.
- Execute other tasks as directed by management or supervisors.
This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 3 months of relevant experience in housekeeping or sanitation is necessary.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, with the ability to travel to local facilities.
- Familiarity with janitorial practices, tools, and safety precautions.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Good customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Knowledge and experience with Alaska Native cultures.
