Surgical Technologist II

As a Surgical Technologist II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in the surgical team by assisting during surgeries, preparing the operating room, and maintaining aseptic conditions. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including preparing and organizing the operating room, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic conditions.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Participate in patient care and education, including providing information to patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to surgical services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in surgical services.
- One year of operating room or military equivalent experience in a scrub role within the last two years or recent completion of an operating room training program.
- Surgical Technologist Certificate within six months of hire from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to scrub all types of surgical cases except open heart.
- Call and weekend rotation required.
- Weekend rotation will be 1:00 pm – 11:30 pm.
