As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in the evaluation and treatment of patients over the age of 65 in a 123-bed geriatric hospital.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled LPN to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geriatric nursing and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

**Responsibilities:**

* Systematically assess patients' urgent or emergent health needs and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the medical team
* Recognize and treat illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions
* Record and maintain patient information in accordance with standard protocols and the Privacy Act
* Identify and record signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions
* Exercise initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills daily
* Prioritize workload and make independent judgments
* Pursue professional development activities and continuing education to stay current with present practices and trends in healthcare
* Follow corporate safety policy and ensure safe operating conditions
* Identify 'close calls' and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel

**Key Qualifications:**

* Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
* Current LPN licensure in the state of Virginia
* CPR certification, American Heart Association
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
* Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred but not required
* Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism

**Physical Requirements:**

* Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects and residents
* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
* Manual dexterity and visual acuity for administering medications and treatments

**Shifts:**

* 3pm-11pm, (5) 8-hour shifts
