Job Summary

Bend-La Pine Schools is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Distribution Delivery Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, retrieving, sorting, distributing, and transporting a wide variety of equipment, supplies, materials, and mail for our district schools, departments, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load supplies on transport carts as necessary.
  • Deliver food, equipment, mail, and supplies to the correct district centers and schools.
  • Load specially designed containers of food for delivery to the schools and district centers in a truck equipped for this purpose.
  • Adhere to a schedule to ensure that food is delivered on time for serving to school staff and students.
  • Pick up, sort, and deliver incoming and outgoing district mail.
  • Responsible for picking up and delivering large amounts of money from school and district centers to the bank on a daily basis.
  • Represent Bend-La Pine Schools in a positive, professional manner and focus on strong customer service.
  • Assure the consistent and timely delivery of mail and supplies throughout the district.
  • Assist the Distribution Manager in receiving, storing, and distributing products.
  • Unload trucks, delivery vans, and other vehicles manually or with a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Assist in the cleaning of the Distribution Center.
  • Help the Distribution Manager organize the U.S. Mail and other deliveries to achieve maximum savings and service to the district centers.
  • Transport commodities between schools and central kitchen, keeping some records to assure accurate inventories.
  • Assure the return and cleanliness of food transport containers.
  • Provide for the care, cleaning, and maintenance of the transport truck.
  • Report maintenance needs of truck.
  • Put on and remove tire chains on vehicle as needed.
  • Follow rules of health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Care for transport carts to prevent damage or spillage.
  • Fulfill other related duties as assigned.
  • Fulfill performance standards identified in the evaluation process as required by the position.
  • Fulfill working conditions and physical effort listed below.
Working Conditions

The moving and partial lifting of containers weighing in excess of 100 pounds is required on a daily basis. Carts must be pushed onto a power tailgate. Exposure to inclement weather and the hazards associated with vehicular travel are routine for this position.

Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • Basic ability to use grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to use fractions, decimals, and commercial arithmetic.
  • Possess or obtain a valid Oregon driver's license and maintain an insurable status for automobile and liability coverage.
