Make an Impact

The Patient Safety & Risk Manager plays a crucial role within our Quality Resource Risk Management Team. This position involves:

  • Identifying, monitoring, and evaluating processes that enhance patient safety and minimize risks to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Conducting root cause analyses and facilitating Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) teams.
  • Participating in the daily operations of network initiatives, including quality improvement programs and peer review activities.
  • Collaborating on quality assurance processes, including case management and infection control issues.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cohesive team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A solid understanding of process improvement principles.
  • A degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program; an Associate's Degree in Nursing is required, while a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • One of the following certifications: Patient Safety Officer Certification, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
  • A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical or healthcare-related experience, with a preference for those with healthcare risk management experience.
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations and effectively resolve problems.
  • Skills to represent Quality Resource Risk Management in various committees.
  • Exceptional patient care skills to ensure a positive experience for all.
