Job Title: Instructor of Mathematics Reporting Structure: Executive Director of Human Resources/Title IX Administrator Division: Human Resources Job Summary: Bethune-Cookman University is seeking a talented mathematics instructor to teach full-time, non-tenure track, College Prep and general education mathematics courses. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to quality instruction and a passion for teaching mathematics to diverse student populations. Duties/Responsibilities: * Teach a full load (15 credit hours) of mathematics courses as assigned. * Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to foster student learning, success, and retention. * Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of mathematics curriculum. * Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the mathematics program. * Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education. Required Skills/Abilities: * A Master's degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education with 18 graduate hours of mathematics. * Teaching experience and expertise in data science are preferred. * Ability to utilize technology and innovative pedagogy to enhance teaching and learning. * Understanding of a commitment to working with a diverse student population in a multicultural environment. Environmental and Physical Conditions: * The working environment is a normal face-to-face business office setting. * The incumbent must be able to work inside the Human Resources office building. * Mask-wearing is required. * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity. * Must be mobile throughout the campus. * Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. * Typical duties may require sitting comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items. * Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. * Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. * Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
