Maintenance and Reliability Systems Engineer

Amentum has an opening for a skilled Maintenance and Reliability Systems Engineer to support a critical Army program office at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, requiring a minimum of 2 days of onsite work per week. It is not a remote position.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and acquiring military communications systems that deliver reliable and sustainable tactical networks for critical mission requirements. Your expertise in maintenance engineering will ensure the development of effective maintenance/sustainment approaches for tactical and strategic communications weapon systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to determine whether an item should be replaced, repaired, or discarded based on cost considerations and operational readiness requirements.
- Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and functional team members to develop Maintenance Allocation Charts (MACs) to identify and designate maintenance responsibilities for weapon systems and components.
- Support the development of system provisioning parts lists and repair parts and special tools lists, including participation in provisioning conferences and in-process reviews.
- Assist in the creation of technical manuals, focusing on setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of weapon systems. This includes supporting in-process reviews, validation/verification events, and logistics demonstration events when required.
- Participate in contract efforts related to logistics and maintenance inputs for Statement of Work development, cost estimation, and technical evaluation.
- Lead obsolescence management efforts, including tracking, mitigation planning, and implementation.
- Participate in configuration management activities related to logistics and maintenance requirements, including Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), drawing reviews, and design reviews/meetings.
- Support sustainment efforts, including Core Depot Assessments, Public-Private Partnership (P3) initiatives, and transition efforts for programs moving to sustainment.
- Assist in tracking and managing field repair activities, including participation in failure review boards, trend analysis, and assistance with help desk/field engineer operations.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of relevant maintenance engineering experience.
- Or a High School Diploma/GED and at least 11 years of relevant maintenance engineering experience.
- Active Secret US Government Clearance required; US citizenship necessary to maintain clearance.
- Familiarity with Maintainability/Reliability Analysis concepts applied to tactical weapon systems.
- Knowledge of acquisition logistics requirements for Army/DoD tactical weapon systems.
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
