Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Art Program Director to join our team at the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges. As a key member of our summer camp staff, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a variety of art programs for children aged 3rd-5th grade.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a range of art activities that cater to the interests and skills of each age group.
  • Supervise and support a team of counselors to ensure the delivery of high-quality programming.
  • Manage and maintain a safe and organized art supply inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Camp Director to develop and implement themes and special events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to campers, parents, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA, ACA, and NJ Licensing standards and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching, youth work, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate learning and supervise others.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.
Working Conditions

The Art Program Director will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities. The position will involve standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds. The ability to visually account for all children in the program and to communicate effectively with staff and campers is essential.
