Key Responsibilities- Provide safe, competent, and efficient clinical support for patient encounters, adhering to proper scope of practice and licensure, provider directives, and regulatory requirements.
- Document all patient visits/interactions in accordance with clinical policy and procedure and best practices to ensure the integrity and completeness of patient records.
- Deliver quality patient healthcare in a safe, efficient, and competent manner.
- Assist in necessary screenings and procedures, including those that may involve members of the opposite sex.
- Attend and participate in patient care reports, daily huddles, team meetings, and other staff meetings as determined by supervisor.
- Obtain WV and OH Board of Pharmacy reports according to policy.
- Administer medications, as per order, in accordance with seven (7) rights – right medication, right patient, right dosage, right route, right time, right reason, and right documentation.
- Practice within his/her scope of expertise and licensure.
- Participate and/or assist with site-specific projects and specialty programs as assigned.
- Assist with the development of written clinical policies and procedures as requested.
- Participate in the development of risk management protocols as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient care information as required by HIPAA and Coplin policies and procedures.
- Ensure that patient rights are protected.
- Assist in maintaining clinical areas and equipment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards.
- Continually enhance clinical practice by participating in professional development opportunities.
- Mentor the growth and development of co-workers through day-to-day guidance and in-service on areas of expertise.
- Maintain good working relationships with co-workers.
- Competencies: Collaboration, Communication, Consultation, Facilitation, Analysis, Education, Critical Evaluation, Ethical Practice, Computation.
- Education (level and type) and Related Work Experience: If an RMA, must be certified/registered and have a current certification in CPR. If a Nurse, a degree from an accredited school of nursing, current (unrestricted) state nursing licensure in WV or OH (as required by facility placement), and current certification in CPR required.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Mileage Reimbursement: Those who are employed as a Float Nurse will receive mileage reimbursement per company Policy if travel is required between sites.
This position is described as a light physical activity job. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with frequent interruptions.
