Job Title: Library Director

The Kenosha Public Library is seeking a visionary leader to serve as its next Library Director. This individual will be responsible for guiding the library's strategic planning, operations, and community engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the library's strategic plan, aligning with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Lead the library's management team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective operations.
  • Collaborate with the library board, community stakeholders, and staff to build strong relationships and promote the library's services.
  • Manage the library's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and effective resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the library's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Grade 1 Wisconsin Library Certificate eligibility.
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in public libraries, including at least three years of recent management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of library management, budget management, policy development, and strategic planning.
