Nurse Specialist

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is accountable for the safe, individualized, efficient, and effective management and delivery of nursing care for women before, during, and after delivery of the baby.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to women in labor and delivery
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Conduct thorough assessments and monitor patients' conditions
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
Educate patients and their families on prenatal and postnatal care
Requirements
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Minnesota
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Attend the Perinatal Practicum course
S.T.A.B.L.E. certification within 6 months
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire
Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification within 1 year of hire
Work Schedule
Night Shift, 7:00pm-7:30am; 72 hours every 2 weeks
Every 3rd weekend
Holiday rotation: 1 summer, 1 winter
Occasional call time
