Job Summary

Shenandoah Medical Center is seeking a skilled Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Paramedic (PRN) to join our team. As an EMT-PRN, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in accordance with EMT certification standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Medical Care: Administer emergency medical care to patients in accordance with EMT certification standards, including administering medications, treatments, and procedures as directed by physicians and nursing staff.
  • Transportation and Patient Care: Transport patients to receiving facilities, providing care and assistance as needed, and reporting observations and medical care to receiving facility staff.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain ambulances in an efficient operating condition, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist hospital staff as needed, including transporting patients, providing basic patient care, and teaching BLS classes.
  • Patient and Staff Safety: Promote and ensure patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities, including administering medications and treatments safely, using proper body mechanics, and following infection control procedures.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements related to Shenandoah Medical Center's operations and requirements of the SMC Compliance Program.
