Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to enhance the security framework of the organization by overseeing various aspects of Information Security, Physical Security, Personnel Security, and Communications Security across multiple facilities.

This organization is dedicated to coordinating efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard national security. The focus is on ensuring the fair and impartial administration of justice while fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Security Specialist, you will be tasked with the following duties:
- Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in physical security matters.
- Proposing new or updated policy standards to adapt to evolving conditions or rectify deficiencies in security programs.
- Collaborating with local and federal law enforcement agencies and property management teams.
- Assessing security clearance for personnel, contractors, and volunteers in accordance with agency protocols.
- Reviewing background investigation reports to determine eligibility for access to sensitive information and areas.
- Managing personal identification verification (PIV) card enrollment and activation processes.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $82,764 - $153,354 per year.
Employment Conditions:
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Nationals and will undergo a pre-employment security investigation, including a drug screening. Selective Service registration is required for males born on or after December 31, 1959.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Security Specialist position at the GS-12/13 level, candidates must possess specialized experience relevant to the grade level being applied for. This includes demonstrating experience in planning and implementing security procedures, evaluating existing practices, and recommending improvements.
Education:
Educational qualifications must be from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency.
