Job Summary:

The Maintenance Superintendent - Operations Manager oversees all physical aspects of the plant, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical systems, production equipment, and facilities. This includes managing maintenance teams, developing and implementing maintenance strategies, and contributing to overall cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Oversight: Suggesting, planning, and overseeing equipment needs to maximize production efficiency and return.
  • Facility Layout and Modifications: Planning the layout of mechanical equipment and recommending and implementing modifications to facilities.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Supporting daily and weekly reporting on schedule compliance and cost initiatives.
  • Work Order Completion: Ensuring that planned work orders are safely and technically completed, providing feedback to improve daily and turnaround planning packages.
  • Team Support: Assist all team members during the execution of turnarounds to meet expectations.
  • Employee Development: Training and developing employees to maximize their performance.
  • Problem Solving: Analyzing problems, evaluating alternatives, and taking action to address personnel and plant/process issues.
  • EHS Participation: Support site environmental, health, and safety (EHS) activities through compliance with policies and active participation in EHS programs.
Requirements:
  • Management Skills: Ability to coordinate employees, teams, and departments with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 5 years in positions combining technical, managerial, and financial expertise.
  • Understanding of OSHA and EPA Regulations: Knowledge of regulations relevant to plant operation and maintenance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to understand and operate the systems and equipment used at the facility.
  • Analytical Skills: Capability to perform and analyze several system checks.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or similar field)
