Position Summary:


This 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of operational equipment, including but not limited to production machinery and utilities systems.

The role encompasses predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of Production Equipment.
This position serves as an entry point for individuals aspiring to become field maintenance technicians. Candidates with foundational maintenance experience, familiarity with tools and equipment, and a variety of practices and procedures will find this role suitable. As experience and proficiency are acquired, tasks will become more diverse and performed with increased autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:
The primary functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
Customer Service

Ensure the uninterrupted operation of Utilities equipment in compliance with relevant regulations, while enhancing efficiency and focusing on productivity to minimize downtime.

Regulatory Compliance & Recordkeeping

Adhere to all applicable regulations such as cGMP, OSHA, EPA, DOH, PRASA, approved procedures, and Quality and EHS Corporate Standards; Complete routine operational data collection using established checklists and forms.

Document inspections, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with relevant procedures and/or guidelines.
Operations Management
Conduct skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks based on the area of assignment, including basic trade activities.
Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on Utilities equipment and systems.
Monitor, operate, and control utilities systems processes and equipment as necessary.

Timely and accurately document monitoring readings, test results, changes to operational parameters, maintenance activities, and any observed issues with systems/equipment.

Perform troubleshooting and repairs as required.
Clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery, tools, and equipment to eliminate grease, rust, and stains.
Assist in the development/modification of Preventive Maintenance Schedules.
Support capital projects, validations, inspections, investigations, and special tasks as needed.
Identify and implement improvements to operational processes.
Ability to interpret parts manuals, assembly instructions, troubleshooting guides, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, and electrical diagrams.
Contribute to RFT, TPM, lean strategies, and other assigned change processes.
Perform all duties safely and ensure all employees are aware of hazards in the work area.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the work environment.
Conduct accuracy verifications on equipment to ensure compliance with required specifications.
Assist in the setup process for utilities equipment.
Understand the Utilities operation.
Identify and update critical spare parts inventory levels.
Conduct in-process sampling and testing of selected operations as required.
Support SOPs Revision
Train colleagues and peers in necessary SOPs and Utilities systems to facilitate cross-training within the team.
Generate purchase requisitions for services or goods needed in the Utilities operation/maintenance.

Education and Experience:
Education
Minimum High School diploma/GED
Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Mechanics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration, Tool and Die Making, or Instrumentation.
Experience

Two or more years of relevant maintenance/equipment experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to effectively perform the essential duties of the job as outlined in the essential functions, or experience in at least one operational function with intermediate knowledge in at least two operational functions.

Experience in the operation and maintenance of Production equipment is highly desirable.
Understanding of cGxP, OSHA, EPA, and other Regulatory Requirements.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic personal computer skills with a preferred working knowledge of current CMMS applications.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Strong communication skills.
Highly motivated with effective leadership capabilities.
Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
High level of technical expertise in one of the following areas: electrical, electronics, mechanical, or automation.
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

High level operational skills in at least one of the essential functions and basic skills in at least two of the operational functions.

Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; reach, stretch hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, push & pull objects, rotating and repetitive movements, climb stairs and must be able to see, talk or hear.

The employee must lift up to 30 pounds; and/or move and/or transport objects/waste. Exposed to variant shifts and extended hours. Subject to stressful environments.
Must be able to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to reach above shoulder level, bend/stoop, kneel, push/pull, and handle/grip frequently.
Must be comfortable working in varying temperatures.
Must be able to work scheduled 40 hours with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Frequent lifting and carrying of 5 to 30 lbs.
Regular reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting.
Repetitive motion and substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in operational environments (Utilities and Machine Shop Areas, among other areas).

The noise levels in these work environments can range from typical office sounds to high (above 85 dBA) machinery noises and elevated temperatures.

The position may require the use of computer programs such as CMMS, Intranet portals, and Microsoft Office among others. The role may necessitate traveling between locations.
