Smith Ready Mix, Inc. is seeking a reliable and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team at our South Bend, IN locations. As a Dump Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a truck in accordance with all applicable Federal, state, and company regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate truck and efficiently load and deliver product to customer.
  • Follow procedures to ensure truck is safe to operate and assist with plant maintenance, cleanup, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complete required pre and post trip inspections and report necessary maintenance.
  • Complete all forms, tickets, and required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Keep inside and outside of truck clean and communicate with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Class A CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Must be able to pass DOT medical examination.
  • At least one year dump truck experience.
  • The ability to climb, bend, and stoop.
  • Good driving record to maintain insurability.
  • The ability to read and write English.
  • Legible writing.
  • Must be dependable, well organized, safety-minded, and have efficient work habits.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance skills.
