Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

• Lead hand therapy services for Westmed, collaborating with referring providers and mentoring staff.
• Conduct initial exams, evaluating patient data to develop treatment plans and inform patients of necessary referrals.
• Fabricate custom splints based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Record patient progress, treatment, and response into our electronic medical record system.
• Design and implement individualized treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning.
• Evaluate treatment effects and adjust plans to achieve maximum benefit.
• Supervise and communicate with supportive personnel.
• Provide educational information on occupational therapy, injury prevention, and health promotion.
• Discharge patients from occupational therapy when goals are attained and provide follow-up care or referrals.

Requirements:

• NYS Occupational Therapy License and Registration.
• Hand Therapist Certification.
• BLS Certification.

Performance Standards:

• Effective communication with patients, insurance companies, and coworkers.
• Continuous communication with MDs regarding patient care.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of custom splint fabrication, manual OT treatments, and OT exercise equipment.

Pay Range: $65,000 - $105,000

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors, including years of experience and location of position.
