Job Summary

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department in Massachusetts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing personnel in one or more patient care units.
    • Verify that patients' needs are met and evaluate nursing care and patient care unit performance.
    • Participate in the planning of work for assigned units and coordinate activities with other patient units/departments.
  • Clinical Oversight
    • Provide quality oversight in collaboration with site, regional, and corporate leadership.
    • Implement appropriate work structure and processes to accomplish goals for patient care specific to contract requirements and healthcare policy and procedures.
  • Staff Development and Training
    • Organize the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient patient care.
    • Conduct at-hire and annual clinical competency assessments and checks to promote the delivery of safe, effective, and efficient nursing care.
    • Provide developmental mentoring, formalized feedback, and coaching to staff.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance
    • Evaluate patient care delivery processes on a regular, systematic, and frequent basis.
    • Participate in and contribute to the achievement of the sites' key performance indicators and Clinical Quality Initiatives as directed.
    • Facilitate the completion of random and scheduled audits to assess site compliance with contractual requirements, accreditation standards, and continuous quality safety improvement (QAPI) opportunities.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Act as a liaison with other operating units, agencies, and outside officials.
    • Ensure nursing records are correctly maintained.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School required. Bachelor or Masters Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the State, board-certified or board-eligible in medicine, and has training and experience providing services to an adult population.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, with correctional healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Previous clinical operations management experience is preferred; previous direct management experience within a correctional health setting is desired.
