Career Opportunity: LPN in Colorectal Surgery

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Colorectal Surgery team. As an LPN at Cleveland Clinic, you will provide top-quality patient care to diverse populations of patients in our department.

Responsibilities:
Collects and documents objective and subjective data and observations about the patient.
Contributes observations and health information to the nursing assessment and reports all data to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.
Implements the current plan of nursing care at the direction of the RN, or the medication or treatment authorized by the authorized directing health care provider.
Documents and verbally communicates the patient's response to the nursing plan of care or the medication or treatment including observing patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and performing routine laboratory tests.
Contributes to the revision of the nursing plan of care.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Current Ohio License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Basic Life Support(BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).

Work Environment:
The H50 Colorectal Surgery Unit focuses on the treatment of patients with Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Colon Cancer, and genetic bowel diseases. The dedicated caregivers on this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to adult patients. We adhere to a strict patient-to-staff ratio never exceeding 6 patients per caregiver.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination. Involves extensive standing and walking. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
