The Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in the rehabilitation process, working under the supervision of the Leader of Rehabilitation Services. Job SpecificationsEducation and ExperienceWe are seeking an individual with a strong educational background and relevant clinical experience. A current or pending state licensure or certification is required. The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in Physical Therapy or a graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Job KnowledgeThe successful candidate must have a solid understanding of cleaning agents and methods, physical layout of the department, and techniques of handling patients. They must also be familiar with policies, procedures, and regulations, as well as the operations of department equipment. Knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques, general anatomy, physiology, physics, and medical science is also essential.
Abilities, Interests, and TemperamentsWe are looking for an individual who can apply the theory of physical therapy, operate necessary equipment, and perform technical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to instill confidence in patients and personnel, and make decisions independently. They must also be able to adapt to emergency situations and be alert to changes in the patient's condition.
RequirementsThe successful candidate must be willing to work under direction, take instruction and correction, and have the ability to reason and remember names and details of instruction. They must also have coordination of sight and body movements in various applications of procedures and be able to handle the tools and machines of the profession.
CompetenciesThe ideal candidate must have a high degree of accuracy in carrying out prescriptions, receiving and translating information, and charting and reporting. They must also be able to work with a variety of patients of all populations, including those with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and patients with specific diagnoses or procedures.
