Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing complex projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Manage heavy civil commercial, industrial, municipal, state, and large site projects from $500K - $10M, including plans, look ahead, sequencing, resourcing, safety & environmental control, pay items, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Team Leadership
    • Build and lead a high-performing team by clarifying individual responsibilities, hiring and terminating as needed, and instilling urgency around shared objectives.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Create a structured environment that supports company growth through formalized operations and efficient production.
  • Culture Development
    • Develop a thriving culture through leadership, coaching, and performance management, ensuring each team member feels supported and understands how production efficiency, quality workmanship, safety, and equipment maintenance benefit them personally.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil work, including sitework, asphalt, paving, road building, demolition, full-scope concrete, earth moving, or utility projects.
  • Project leadership experience, including creating project timelines as a prime contractor.
  • Ability to think critically and develop well-planned, highly productive, and efficient project operations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence others through an intentional balance of high expectations and caring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience with Trimble and/or GPS technology.

Work Environment

We offer a 50-hour work week, with a typical schedule of 7-5:30 M-F. You will be required to work within a 2-hour radius of Gadsden, with occasional meetings at our shop.
