Critical Care Nurse

The Staff RN VCT is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, developing individualized care plans to address their unique requirements.
- Implement evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Monitor patients' responses to treatment, making adjustments as needed to ensure effective care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Five years of critical care experience or equivalent area of practice experience.
- Professional knowledge of nursing theory and clinical practice at a level generally acquired through completing a minimum of two years of education at an accredited School of Nursing.
- Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of target patient populations specific to the area of employment.
- A fundamental understanding of hemodynamics and sepsis and their related interventional treatments.
- Knowledge of bedside devices, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy, 12-lead EKG interpretation, NIH Stroke Scale, ventricular assist devices, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
- Current, unrestricted, state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent is required upon hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 90 days of hire.
