About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our Water Discipline team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including steel and concrete structures, site and earthwork, and roadway and utility projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering calculations and create construction cost estimates
  • Design steel, concrete, prestressed concrete, and timber structures
  • Work with senior engineers to create project designs for structures on or near the water, including locks, dams, water control gates, and moorings
  • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, and drawings from multiple disciplines
  • Conduct field inspections and surveys to support design and construction efforts
  • Research and apply code provisions to design
  • Research design alternatives and document findings for project engineers and managers
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Assist project engineers and leaders in creating proposals, client information, and designs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • EIT candidates preferred
  • Interest in structural engineering projects, especially on or near the water; prior experience preferred but not required
  • CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation) are a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment
