Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant Professor to join our esteemed faculty in a Non-Tenure Track capacity within the Health Sciences Division. This full-time role is essential for advancing our research initiatives in public health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert biostatistical support for grant proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with faculty to create predictive and prescriptive models utilizing extensive and diverse data sets through advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
  • Conduct thorough data exploration to generate hypotheses and facilitate knowledge discovery.
  • Assist in securing external funding by developing and articulating data science methodologies in grant applications.
  • Design and implement algorithms and software solutions for healthcare analytics.
  • Deliver educational lectures and workshops on data science topics for the Health Sciences Division.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Doctorate in Data Science or a related discipline.

Experience:

  • Required: 3-5 years of experience in biostatistics or data science, with a history of co-investigating on federally funded projects.
  • Preferred: 6-10 years of experience in data science roles.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in statistical software such as SAS or R.
  • Experience with high-level programming languages, preferably Python or Java.
  • Familiarity with contemporary data science tools like TensorFlow and Keras is advantageous.
