**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer Sr to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a critical member of our organization, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of our products and systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform hazard analyses per MIL-STD-882E in support of Advanced Programs Line of Business (LOB)
  • Analyze and recommend safety features and controls for system design, software, training, and procedures
  • Develop and evaluate system safety requirements
  • Support the development of safety documentation to satisfy customer and contractual requirements
  • Coordinate and lead System Safety Working Group (SSWG) meetings with internal and external counterparts
  • Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation
  • Assist in requirements development and verification
  • Review specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for adverse impacts to system safety
  • Support customer and test/operational range requirements
  • Participate in the development of test activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentation material to support various independent safety board meetings
  • Participate in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline
  • Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882
  • Developing and evaluating system safety requirements
  • Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program IAW AOP-52 and DoD guidelines
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its associated analyses
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to make formal presentations to large groups
  • Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers, and customers
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

**Desired Skills:**

  • Experience supporting independent government Safety Review Boards
  • Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering
  • Familiarity with missile and launcher systems
  • Secret clearance with current 6-year background check
  • Model-based engineering knowledge
  • Experience with DOORS requirements application
  • Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little direction
  • Effective analytical problem-solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools

**Pay Rate:**

The annual base salary range for this position is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
