**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer Sr to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a critical member of our organization, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety of our products and systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform hazard analyses per MIL-STD-882E in support of Advanced Programs Line of Business (LOB)
- Analyze and recommend safety features and controls for system design, software, training, and procedures
- Develop and evaluate system safety requirements
- Support the development of safety documentation to satisfy customer and contractual requirements
- Coordinate and lead System Safety Working Group (SSWG) meetings with internal and external counterparts
- Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation
- Assist in requirements development and verification
- Review specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for adverse impacts to system safety
- Support customer and test/operational range requirements
- Participate in the development of test activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied
- Prepare technical documentation and presentation material to support various independent safety board meetings
- Participate in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline
- Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL-STD-882
- Developing and evaluating system safety requirements
- Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program IAW AOP-52 and DoD guidelines
- Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882 and its associated analyses
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to make formal presentations to large groups
- Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers, and customers
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
**Desired Skills:**
- Experience supporting independent government Safety Review Boards
- Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering
- Familiarity with missile and launcher systems
- Secret clearance with current 6-year background check
- Model-based engineering knowledge
- Experience with DOORS requirements application
- Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little direction
- Effective analytical problem-solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools

**Pay Rate:**
The annual base salary range for this position is $82,200 - $157,500. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
