Tableau Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tableau Administrator to join our team at AssistRx, Inc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the optimal performance, security, and user experience of our Tableau Server environment.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Tableau Server and associated applications on Windows and Apple systems.
  • Provide support for Tableau Desktop and Server to end users, including troubleshooting problems, providing, and assisting with implementation of solutions, and conducting training sessions.
  • Perform regular system upgrades and patches, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Conduct all performance tuning and management on the Tableau server environment, reviewing and optimizing all server and data source parameters.
  • Ensure required security controls for Tableau functionality in collaboration with AssistRx Security and Compliance teams to ensure compliance with security and privacy policies while minimizing security risks and maximizing end-user functionality.
  • Create and manage site users and groups, projects, and workbooks, assigning permissions to allow users to access the content they have access to view.
  • Establish Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality for external clients on our reporting platform.
  • Manage Tableau server and user licensing and renewals.
  • Oversee the CI/CD pipeline and deployment procedures, ensuring adherence from all team members.
  • Provide change management for Tableau upgrade schedules, releases, and new features.
  • Lead and provide recommendations for creating and implementing Tableau platform governance and standards around data sources, transformations, and dashboards across all Tableau instances.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the Tableau system architecture, configurations, upgrades, and processes (platform sizing, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, etc).
  • Look for, vet out, and implement Tableau enhancements to assist in scalability, development, and delivery process.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Tableau Cloud and experienced in transitioning from on-premises to cloud environments.
  • Develop dashboards in Tableau as required.
