Job Title: Physician Advisor

At Highmark Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Physician Advisor to join our team. As a Physician Advisor, you will play a critical role in evaluating the medical necessity and appropriateness of patient care, working closely with our Case Management team and other hospital personnel to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate medical necessity and appropriateness of patient care
  • Work with Case Management and hospital personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide medical expertise and advice to Case Management
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • 5 years of clinical practice experience in a hospital setting
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
