Job Description

Job Title: Refrigeration Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, operating, monitoring, repairing, and maintaining the refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, hydronic, and humidity systems and controls in our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, operate, monitor, repair, and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, hydronic, and humidity systems and controls
  • Instruct skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled prisoners with the performance of assigned tasks or duties
  • Complete work requests and scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Develop material orders and specifications, as well as monitor material inventories
  • Travel, which may include overnight stays

Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in the refrigeration mechanic trade, including one year equivalent to a Refrigeration Mechanic E9
  • Completion of a refrigeration mechanic's vocational training program that included commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience
  • Possession of a mechanical contractor's license to carry out refrigeration mechanic work at construction or remodeling project sites
  • Certification in compliance with Section 608 of the Clean Air Act of 1990 (as amended) to provide maintenance, service, repair, or disposal duties that could reasonably be expected to release refrigerants into the atmosphere

Working Conditions: This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle all duties as assigned. Travel may be required, which may include overnight stays.
