Job Summary

MRC Global is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales and Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our branch operations, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring the safe and effective operation of our branch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer inquiries, develop accounts, and generate quotes using our database.
  • Maximize gross margin sales through careful analysis during the quote process.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to increase market share by growing sales.
  • Provide product information, delivery specifications, and payment terms to customers.
  • Assist outside sales and/or branch management in processing priority transactions.
  • Work with customers to understand their business needs and provide value-added recommendations to increase sales.
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders, customer orders, and trade discounts as needed.
  • Work with internal departments to set up and maintain accurate customer files.
  • Maintain quality standards and communicate with customers and coworkers to provide technical information.
  • Participate in meetings and training opportunities to enhance personal and product knowledge.
  • Monitor expected ship dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
  • Provide prompt responses to internal and external customer inquiries.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and additional post-secondary training or education.
  • Two or more years of experience in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Ability to communicate and promote ideas to others.
  • Valid Driver's license with the ability to meet MRC Global's vehicle policy.
Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global's guidelines and expectations.
