Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team in Victoria, TX. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining solar inverters and energy storage systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical assignments involving the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of solar inverters and energy storage systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnosis under Sungrow's maintenance and repair guidelines.
  • Support and perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of solar inverters and energy storage systems within schedule and work plans.
  • Investigate solar plant issues such as DC array grid faults, inverter design issues, and utility grid transients.
  • Provide feedback to the engineering and project team on possible mechanical and electrical design improvements.
  • Lead upgrade/rework projects (software and hardware) in the field and interact with customers to explain the project's technical scope and manage work schedule and commitments.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Renewable industry experience is desired.
  • Power Electronics experience is desired.
  • OSHA 10 certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
  • NFPA 70e certificate within 12 months of date of hire.
Competencies
  • Strong demonstration of workplace safety practices.
  • Understands and follows a Safety Plan.
  • Comprehend Job Hazard Analysis and conduct level-appropriate Job Hazard Analysis.
  • Designated as Authorized Person for LOTO.
  • Compliant with environmental safety requirements.
Travel and Work Location

This role requires 80% plus travel. The work location is Victoria, TX area, and the position is full-time.
