Position Overview:
iHeartMedia Alaska is actively seeking a Chief Programming Officer (CPO). This pivotal role demands exceptional leadership capabilities and a demonstrated history of cultivating and inspiring high-achieving teams.
The ideal candidate will have the expertise to enhance ratings performance and collaborate with the sales division to drive revenue growth by leveraging iHeartMedia's diverse platforms.
The CPO will serve as a senior executive responsible for shaping the strategy and implementation of brand initiatives across the Fairbanks and Anchorage markets, while also boosting audience interaction.
This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of market offerings and safeguarding station licenses.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee programming operations for Fairbanks and Anchorage, managing a total of ten successful stations.
Identify, nurture, coach, and supervise the Promotions team, Digital leads, and On-Air Talent.
Examine ratings and market analytics to expand the audience base – pinpoint market risks and opportunities for ratings enhancement.
Monitor competitive landscape and devise strategies to excel against rivals.
Collaborate with Air Talent, Promotion leads, and Digital leads to foster audience engagement and elevate the market's brands across broadcast, digital, and live events.
Work alongside On-Air Talent and Program Directors to ensure investment in original content for digital platforms.Assist in the planning and execution of live events within the market.
Support the Market President by overseeing daily programming operations, including productivity management, cost control, technology integration, and production capabilities.
Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, identifying opportunities for professional development.Drive performance through your team, holding them accountable to business metrics and expectations.
Deliver visible leadership and communication throughout the market.
Actively collaborate with the Market President and Vice President of Sales to stimulate revenue growth.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in programming and digital brand stewardship.
Comprehensive understanding of market dynamics, audience preferences, and competitive forces to optimize ratings growth.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
A talent-centric approach – outstanding people management and team performance coaching experience.
Familiarity with FCC regulations and guidelines.
A relevant undergraduate degree or a suitable combination of education and experience is required.
