Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement security and access control policies and procedures to ensure the security of our facilities and service area.
  • Conduct regular audits of access control systems and generate reports on findings.
  • Monitor and manage access control systems for our facilities.
  • Issue, track, and manage access cards and credentials for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Perform routine audits of access logs and report any anomalies or breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company security policies and procedures.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting support and handle technical issues related to access control systems.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of access control hardware and software.
  • Coordinate with IT and security teams for the integration of access control systems with other security measures.
  • Investigate security incidents, provide recommendations for improvements, and assist with incident investigations as needed.
  • Conduct field inspections to identify security concerns within our service area.
  • Assist with the coordination of security audits with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
  • Manage the building security system (ADT) and inspect for issues.
  • Manage the emergency communication system (Everbridge), including sending out messages during incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records of access control activities.
Requirements
  • Associates/Technical degree in security management, IT, or related field and intermediate experience in fieldwork, customer service, data entry, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in security, access control, or a related field. Basic knowledge of access control systems and hardware. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct audits and generate comprehensive reports. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Working Conditions

This work is sedentary and requires little to no exertion of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to wet humid conditions (non- weather), exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather) and exposure to extreme heat (non- weather), frequently requires exposure to vibration and occasionally requires working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).
