KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen;
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required;
  • At least 1 year of investigative experience within the last five years, adhering to Federal Investigative Standards;
  • Possession of a reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record;
  • Willingness to travel for temporary assignments as necessary;
  • Ability to successfully pass background checks and complete all required training;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to various situations;
  • Capability to interpret diverse instructions in various formats;
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing professional documentation and regulations;
  • Strong writing skills for reports and business correspondence;
  • Competence in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet, and Email;
  • Eligibility to obtain Top Secret (TS) clearance.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Conduct face-to-face interviews to gather factual information regarding individuals' backgrounds and character, following agency protocols.
  • Collect factual data from multiple sources to create thorough reports that encapsulate all relevant aspects of an individual's background.
  • Travel within the assigned geographic area to perform investigations at various locations as cases are allocated.
  • Engage regularly with managers and representatives from contractor facilities, government organizations, and law enforcement to foster effective working relationships.
  • Adapt to evolving situations and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Workload will vary based on case availability in the geographic area.
  • Possibility of voluntary temporary assignments in different regions of the country.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related discipline.
  • Current Top Secret clearance is preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily conducted from the investigator's home office and involves travel to various field locations for interviews. Coverage areas may require extended travel. Work hours may vary based on lead availability and can include weekends or third-shift appointments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role requires intermittent standing, writing/typing, walking, sitting, and driving throughout the workday, which may extend for several hours.
