Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the examination and treatment of patients, assisting medical and nursing staff in a variety of routine duties.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain and record patient data for medical records
  • Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Undress, cleanse, and position patients for specific procedures
  • Administer enemas, remove casts, clean wounds, and apply medications and dressings
  • Set up and clean examination rooms, including changing linen and making beds
  • Escort and transport patients to various hospital locations
  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly condition
Requirements
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required
  • BLS required
  • Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES strongly preferred
  • High school or GED graduation required
