About the Role

We are seeking a skilled LPN/LVN to join our team in the Surgical Inpatient Unit at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. As a member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our unit.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide patient care, including administering medications and performing tasks within the scope of practice.
  • Contribute to the admission assessment process by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in identifying and supporting a multidisciplinary approach to determine appropriate patient care interventions to maintain comfort, support human functions, and responses, and maintain an environment conducive to safety and well-being.
  • Communicate with providers during routine rounding and on an as-needed basis.
  • Integrate patient/family teaching throughout the hospitalization, including the overview of the plan and goals of care, pre- and post-operative procedures, diagnostic procedures, and discharge teaching.
Requirements
  • Completed an accredited LPN program.
  • Previous CNA/PCT experience preferred.
  • Possess current LPN licensure in the State of Iowa or compact state.
  • Writes, reads, speaks, and comprehends fluent English.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the manual skills and techniques required to perform basic nursing procedures and the operation of specialized equipment.
